Of all the struggles in the apparel decorating community, low-temperature fabrics are one of the big ones. Luckily there are new products being developed every day that makes creating custom designs and logos on performance garments much easier to handle. But wouldn’t it be great if you could use just one product for your cotton, polyester, and nylon needs? Enter DigiC.A.T. Turbo.
And yes, we did say NYLON. Finally, transferring cut designs onto nylon is an easier and economical possibility. Now if you haven’t had a request to work on nylon, you might be wondering: what’s the big deal? Although not everyone needs nylon-based products in the apparel world, it is increasingly being used in performance fabrics and active wear. Traditionally it has been used in safety vests, camping gear, umbrellas, backpacks, and promotional products.
DigiC.A.T. Turbo is a new GSG product that can apply to all low-temperature fabrics, as well as more commonly used textiles like cotton. It’s an all inclusive bang-for-your-buck HTV. But to apply it to Nylon there are a few steps you need to follow in order to overcome the traditional headaches associated with the material:
Step 1: Set Pressure to 2.0 bar (low).
Step 2: Set temperature to 300° F.
Step 3: Preheat for 5 seconds.
Step 4: Apply to Nylon for 5 seconds.
Step 5: Remove PET liner, cover transfer with silicon paper, and then apply for an additional 10 seconds.
That’s it! Follow these simple steps and you are on your way to customized activewear and more. With DigiC.A.T. Turbo’s special hotmelt formula, you get great low temperature designs with fast application time.
